Diesel Technology If you have good mechanical aptitude and enjoy working with large machinery, Diesel Technology may be just what you are looking for. As a student in the Diesel Technology program, you will learn the latest truck and diesel repair and diagnostic techniques using up-to-date equipment. Instruction is provided in facilities using actual components and vehicles. You will be trained in the diagnosis and repair of heavy-duty transmissions, power differentials, diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and diesel fuel systems. Emphasis is placed on the use of current industry trends such as bio diesel instruction and hybridfuel saving technology, diagnostic equipment—including the use of laptop computers to troubleshoot, technical manuals, emissions and the environment, and proper tools and equipment for the job. Truck and diesel technicians are employed by truck dealerships, heavy equipment dealerships, truck fleet operators, construction contractors, farm implement dealerships and independent truck repair shops.
