Want to learn how to sew or get back into sewing? This easy-to-sew vest will be a great project for you. Vests are very fashionable these days and come in a variety of fabric choices. In addition to sewing the vest, you will learn how to adjust the length, how to add facings and other pattern adjustments. Several examples will be illustrated. Please bring to class: a vest pattern that is straight with no darts, the amount of fabric needed for the size that will fit you, 1 1/2 yds. of cotton fabric for facings to match the outer fabric, 1 yd. of lightweight fusible interfacing, embellishments for the vest if desired, sewing machine & all attachments, machine needles, scissors, extension cord, & thread to match fabric. Students should have their sewing tools set up & ready to go by
the start of class.
Instructor: Cheryl Hilbrands. Since 1966 when Cheryl started sewing, she has made many items for the home and sewed clothes for individuals. Quilting is a large part of Cheryl’s life now.?She has taught adult education
programs at NCC, in the Sioux Falls school system, at a quilt store in Sioux Falls, and has done many quilt presentations for women’s groups and quilting guilds.
