Emergency Medical Responder Course


The Emergency Medical Responder course, formerly known as First Responder, is designed to train the student in patient stabilization techniques through the use of initial basic emergency care prior to the arrival of an ambulance. You will be instructed to the current 2011 EMR guidelines &?Iowa scope of practice. You will take the National Registry EMR Exam upon completion of the course. The class will meet on Monday & Thursdays until completed.

This class will be held at the Alvord Community Building, however the first session (November 20) will be held at the NCC Campus, Room 514, Building H in Sheldon for orientation.

Prerequisites: Must be 17 years old at the start of class, be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
