Administrative Secretarial

Award: Diploma
Length: Two Semesters
Fall semester entry for full-time students
Part-time students may enter any term



If you are interested in the exciting atmosphere found in today’s automated office, you will want to look into the Administrative Secretarial program at NCC!

NCC’s program prepares you for the demanding work of an administrative assistant in any modern office. As an Administrative Secretarial student, you will learn basic office skills with an emphasis on word and information processing, communications, and human relations skills. You will develop essential technical and interpersonal skills through office simulations and hands-on laboratory applications using some of the newest high-tech equipment.

Graduates of the program find employment opportunities in a wide variety of business environments from small businesses to large corporations. You will be prepared for entry-level employment with potential for advancement in offices of virtually any industry. The program also provides Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification training.

A two-year Administrative Office Management program is also available.

Where will I get a job?
Graduates are able to find professional secretarial positions at banks, law offices, accounting firms, medical facilities, and large and small corporations.

How much $ will I make?
Graduates’ starting wage may range anywhere from $9–$12 an hour, depending on where they choose to work.

What kind of classes will I take?
Classes are a combination of hands-on lab and lecture. It averages out to about a 50/50 split.

What’s unique about this program?
NCC’s program uses the latest computer software programs and has small class sizes. An AAS degree program, which is 2 years in length, is also available.
