Northwestern College - Elementary Education Plan

Award: Bachelor’s Degree for transfer students
2 Years at NCC and 2 Years at Northwestern College

If earning your bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education is one of your goals, start at NCC and finish at Northwestern College. You can complete your first two years at a lower cost before transferring to finish your Bachelor’s degree. This program lets you readily apply ALL your associate’s degree to a bachelor’s degree completion program. Because Northwestern accepts all the credit earned at NCC, there’s no repeating courses, no transfer fees.

The Elementary Education Plan is for those who enjoy learning, possess good communication skills and are good at interacting with people. There is currently a great demand for qualified teachers in Iowa and across the nation.

How’s it work?
1. Enroll at Northwest Iowa Community College and earn your associate’s degree.
2. Finish your final two years at Northwestern College to earn your Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

How much $ will I make?
The average salary for professional business people in this area is $25,000–$30,000.

What kind of classes will I take?
Education courses are designed to help students build the knowledge base required for education majors. Classes are a combination of lecture and discussion.

What’s unique about this program?

You will earn your Bachelor’s degree in two years following graduating with an associate’s degree from NCC.
