Members of the College Community,

At approximately 10:30 this morning a deceased individual was discovered in the Floyd River near the southeastern edge of campus.

Sheldon Police and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office were notified immediately.

Law enforcement officials have begun their work of investigation; there is no identification of the deceased at this time.

The safety and well-being of our students and employees is our first priority. There is no immediate danger on campus.

We know everyone is concerned and many may have questions. Please be patient—as more details become available we will keep you informed.

The NCC family extends its sympathies to all who may be impacted during this difficult time.
