Area High School Students Have the Opportunity to Earn Free College Credits at NCC
College credit can be earned while in high school during the summer for FREE! The classes listed below can be taken with no charge to the student through the State of Iowa’s Future Ready Iowa Initiative. You must be registered by JUNE 3 with your high school guidance counselor or contact Beth Frankenstein: bfrankenstein@nwicc.edu.
Dr. Beth Frankenstein, Director – Student Development, Secondary Programs, & Transitions, explained, “We are offering again this year free summer college credit classes to high school students. In an effort to stimulate more interest in high demand jobs the state of Iowa is offering a summer opportunity for high school students to explore the career fields of Computers, Manufacturing, and Healthcare free of charge. The student can take a college class and explore if it is a field that might be a good fit for them. These classes are the same as our dual enrollment classes during the school year, the only change is these classes are being offered during the summer.”
Classes are being offered on NCC’s campus in Sheldon and some courses are offered online as well.
