Do I need to check my NCC email?

Yes!

All students receive an NCC email account. You must check your NCC email at least once a week.

We notify students about pertinent campus information via their NCC email. The Financial Aid Office communicates when information is needed and to request a student to come to the office.

Your email is found in MyPlace, along with important information regarding:

  • your class schedule
  • your grades
  • your bill
  • financial aid
  • campus information

Do my grades affect my financial aid?

If you receive financial aid (including loans and work-study), federal regulations require you to make satisfactory academic progress to continue receiving financial aid funds. To maintain financial aid eligibility you need to:

  1. Maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0.
  2. Earn on a cumulative basis 67% of all credits ever attempted.
  3. Complete your course of study within the maximum time limit.

When should I complete the FAFSA?

The FAFSA is available October 1 of the year preceding your college attendance. You may complete and submit a FAFSA as early as October 1 every year, using earlier income and tax information.

  • For the 2020–2021 FAFSA, you—and your parent(s), as appropriate—will report your 2018 income and tax information.
  • For the 2021–2022 FAFSA, you—and your parent(s), as appropriate—will report your 2019 income and tax information.

Remember that financial aid is given on a year-by-year basis, and you must reapply each year.

What is the Monthly Payment Plan option?

NCC offers a monthly payment plan to try to accommodate the financial needs of some students.

It is not a loan program.

There is a $25.00 non-refundable enrollment fee assessed each semester you enroll in the payment plan.

The monthly payment plan allows you to budget and make monthly payments to pay your outstanding balance at NCC.

This plan may be available whether or not financial aid funds are applied to your NCC account.
