Northwest Iowa Community College, Sheldon, will be offering a Certified Crane Operating three-week class. The classes will begin March 12, and will run through the 29th. No experience is required to take the course. The participants will have a mixture of classroom prep for the NCCCO exams and hands-on practice in the hydraulic swing cab crane that will be used for the practical testing. Upon completing the course and passing all necessary tests the students will be NCCCO certified. Students will also become qualified in Rigging/Signaling as part of the course.
Those that are not experienced will be in class starting March 12 through the March 29, with the cost of $6,495 per person. Those that have past experience will be in the class starting March 12, until March 16, with the cost of $2,395. Those that are experienced will not have as much expected time in the classroom, and by the end of the class, they will be certified. Those that are looking to be re-certified will be in class from March 12- March 14, with the cost of $1,450.
Class time will be spent preparing for the NCCCO certification exam. There will be an additional cost of $215 for the NCCCO core and specialty based exams, which are taken at NCC, along with an additional cost of $60 for the practical exam. Financial assistance is available for those that qualify based on income guidelines.
