Emergency Medical Technician

The EMT course has been developed to prepare individuals to provide quality pre-hospital emergency care. Clinical time at an emergency room is required in addition to the classroom/online hours. College credit is available.

Prerequisites: Must be 17 years old at the start of class, be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English, and physically capable of performing basic EMT skills.

Face to Face Class

NCC’s face-to-face EMT classes will begin Monday, September 14.

Hybrid Course—Online Class

The Hybrid EMT Course consists of online class lectures with several all-day Saturday skills sessions to be held at NCC. The blend of online with the face-to-face skills labs shortens the durection of the course. The student must be dedicated and motivated to handle this form of educational delivery.

An Orientation session will be held on Monday, August 24 at NCC from 6–9PM.

 

Emergency Medical Responder (First Responder) Hybrid Course

The Emergency Medical Responder course, formerly known as First Responder, is designed to train the student in patient stabilization techniques through the use of initial basic emergency care prior to the arrival of an ambulance. You will be instructed to the current 2011 EMR guidelines & Iowa scope of practice. You will take the National Registry EMR Exam upon completion of the course. This class is held online with face-to-face practical skill sessions. An Orientation session will be held on Monday, August 24 at NCC from 6–10PM.
*The practical skill sessions will be held several Saturdays at the Paullina Fire Department.
