Evan Bensley to Retire from NCC

Evan Bensley, Coordinator, Emergency Services Education, will be retiring from Northwest Iowa Community College on June 30, 2018. Bensley has been with NCC over 21 years, since November 13, 1996.

Bensley began his career at Sac County Ambulance Service as an EMT-A and EMT-Intermediate. He advanced to the Paramedic Program in 1987. He was promoted to the Interim Director of Sac County Ambulance Service and started teaching EMT classes as well. In 1988, he began working at Lakes Regional Heathcare (LRH) as a Paramedic. During his tenure at LRH he coordinated and taught a number of EMS courses for Iowa Lakes Community College.

Bensley commented, “I enjoyed my time working with Wayne Reed, my early mentor, while learning how Continuing Education operates and the numerous government requirements and regulations that affect my area. Wayne will be sorely missed.”

While at NCC, Bensley won the Missouri Valley Adult Education Association Education Award in 2004. He also won the Iowa EMS Association Board of Directors Award for serving on the IEMSA Board from 1998-2005. In 2007, Evan was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Iowa Association of Lifelong Learning.
