CDL ELDT Theory – Online
This is the initial step to completing your Entry Level Drivers Training. The FMSCA’s new Entry Level Driver’s Training (ELDT) rule took effect on Feb 7, 2022. Under the new rule, entry level drivers (drivers who are applying for an initial CDL, upgrading a current CDL, or obtaining a Haz Mat, Passenger or School Bus endorsement) must successfully complete a prescribed program of Theory and Behind the Wheel instruction prior to taking a CDL test. This training must be provided by a school or entity listed on the FMSCA’s Training Provider Registry. This training will consist of approximately 17.5 hours of online Theory training provided by a third-party contractor. This portion will involve over 30 sessions meeting the requirements of the FMSCA as defined in 383.91(a)(1). Each session requires a proficiency level of 80%.
After registering for the class, you will receive a link to the online course within 1-3 business days from JJ Keller. A study/training textbook is available upon request. Additional fees may be applied for shipping. Please contact the NCC Continuing Education office if you are interested.
After you complete the online Theory class, please contact the NCC Continuing Education office at 712-324-5061 to schedule the Behind the Wheel training.
