According to Iowa Code, RN Exceptions must have equivalent training that is signed off by the Service’s Medical Director. We here at NCC are looking at creating a standardized training that would be applicable to all RN exceptions and could fit into the training.
The training is a two day, comprehensive course, covering the basics of EMS. RN’s should already be competent in assessment skills, but may need to be brought to light on EMS standard of care and operations. One day of class is on campus. The rest of the class is online.
