The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) requires that all Surface Miners and Surface Mining Contractors complete a minimum of 8 hours of Annual Refresher training per year. This Annual Refresher training covers topics relevant to current mining operations, as well as changes that could affect a miner’s health or safety. This course is annual refresher instruction designed to train and recertify persons for Part 46 & 48B surface training for underground mines. Refresher classes are not comprehensive in scope; participants should meet the MSHA definition of “experienced” miner.
