This class will provide training on radio communications by engaging attendees through the learning, review, and hands-on practical application of the physical use of radios, both hand-held and base station radios. It will also educate attendees on radio etiquette and best practices while communicating via two-way radio. Attendees will participate in a radio communication exercise where they will gain experience in radio operations. The class also focuses on Incident Command Concepts. NIMS and HICS classes are important to have as base knowledge and it might even be required for your certification or licensure. This class will focus on the concepts of Incident Command that will help you become efficient and effective in executing Incident Command in practical application. It will assist you and your agency partners in learning how to work together within the Incident Command System so all agencies can mitigate incidents cooperatively and to improve incident outcomes. This class aims at mitigating the identified gaps of Radio Communication Interoperability and Understanding definitive roles in Incident Command.
