The Accounting Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Swine System Manager’s operations. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, giving you the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in accounting principles, practices, and swine industry skill development.


Key Responsibilities

·         Assist with data entry and accounts payable/receivable processes.

·         Learn and participate in bank reconciliations.

·         Gain exposure to financial statement preparation.

·         Contribute to month-end and/or year-end closing procedures.

·         Assist with cost accounting responsibilities including cost analysis projects, variance analysis and cost allocation reports.

·         Prepare basic accounting reports and documents.

·         Maintain a professional and organized work ethic.


Safety and Compliance

·         Uphold all cooperative policies.

·         Follow and comply with all laws and regulations both State and Federal

·         Attend all employee safety meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with the Safety Director or location.


Other Duties

·         Perform other duties as assigned by management.

·         Receive favorable feedback from all department managers when assigned to perform or assist with other duties and responsibilities in those departments.

·         Attitude consistently mirrors the company image and promotes fellow employee teamwork.

·         Present a professional image through words, actions, and personal appearance.



·         Currently enrolled in a associate degree program in accounting, finance, or a related field.

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn accounting software.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Eagerness to learn and a willingness to take on new challenges.

·         Valid driver’s license
