Job Description:
The Line Foreman is responsible for providing field supervision over the crew involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground and overhead electric distribution and service lines, transformers, meters, metering equipment and other related equipment.
This position involves responsibility for routine and emergency electrical distribution system operation, servicing and cleaning of building and grounds as well as operating a variety of specialized equipment and apparatus in the Electrical Distribution Department and electrical distribution system.

The regular workday starts at 8:00 A.M. and ends at 4:30 P.M., Monday-Friday. There is also a rotating “on call” person that is on-call after the normal working hours from Friday to Friday or seven days including holidays which are rotated within the department throughout the year. Occasional emergency overtime work and emergency call-out work will be necessary.
This position is directly responsible to the Electric Utility Superintendent.

Job Location:
This position requires year round indoor and outdoor activities around the electrical distribution shop, power plant and the entire overhead and underground electrical distribution system throughout the City of Estherville.

Qualifications:
Electrical knowledge required in transformer connections, metering and both overhead and underground electrical distribution construction and design.
Must be able to perform such duties as mapping, metering, installing and terminating primary and secondary cable and also must understand the operations of equipment such as digger derrick trucks, bucket trucks and trenching equipment.
Valid Class “B” Commercial Drivers License is required with airbrakes.
Ability to create and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees and the public.
Must have completed a formal apprenticeship or have the knowledge and experience to safely perform all the associated work duties.

Wages range from $77,600 to $82,400 depending on qualifications.
