Prairie View Campus is a five-star facility offering a continuum of care. At Prairie View Campus we show great appreciation for our staff, knowing we couldn’t take care of our beloved residents without them. All positions are extremely important and change the daily lives of the elderly throughout our campus. Under the Director of Nursing, the Charge Nurse directs the provision of resident care services for a particular shift/unit and supervises the nursing staff assigned to that unit/shift. The Charge Nurse (LPN/RN) will perform direct nursing services to residents, in accordance with individual plans of care and physicians’ orders.

Full-Time Nurse (LPN/RN) RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsible for the safety of the residents under his/her supervision
  • Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary
  • Document resident care provided and resident’s response or lack of response to care provided
  • Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating action
  • Identify problems and emergency situations and initiate emergency care and “life-saving” measures in the absence of a physician
  • Administer and document resident care, medications, external/parenteral nutritional and treatments per physicians’ orders and accurately record all care provided
  • Competently perform basic nursing skillsREQUIREMENTS:
  • Current, valid Iowa Nurse License
  • Current, valid CPR Certification
  • Consistently work cooperatively with residents, nursing staff, physicians, families, consultant personnel, community agencies and ancillary service providers
  • Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action immediately
  • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality, complies with attendance policy
