DIVISION: College Operations & Finance

SUPERVISOR: Director of Human Resources

BASIC FUNCTION: This person will work directly with the Director of Human Resources to support all aspects of the Human Resources department at NCC.

Required – Associate’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting, or Human Resources, or 3 years of experience in payroll, billing, and/or benefits administration.
Work experience that supports excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
HRCI or SHRM Certification.
Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Staffing – Collaborates on all staffing activities including recruiting, interviewing, post-offer screenings, job postings, advertising, and orientation.
2. Employee Relations and Communication – Works with the Director of HR on internal employee communications, company events, the administration of corrective actions, counseling management in disciplinary situations, and reviewing all employee termination processes and exit interviews.
3. Policy and Procedure – Understands and administers company policies, procedures, and documentation. Maintains the SDS sheets.
4. Benefits – Works with the Director of HR to administer benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, TIAA/IPERS, and voluntary benefits. With the Director of HR, the HR Assistant is responsible for compliance, communication, billing, enrollment, plan reviews, and maintaining applicable relationships with third party administrators and brokers. |
5. Work Comp / Insurance Claims – The HR Assistant is the contact for the worker compensation program, including case management, claims submission, incident reporting, light duty, and return to work program.
6. Compliance – Responsible for understanding and ADA, FMLA and EEOC tracking and compliance and for brining emerging issues to the attention of the Director of HR.
7. Training – In conjunction with the Director of HR, collaborates with Quality, and Safety teams, to develop and administer training courses for annual and ongoing regulatory training and employee development needs.
8. Recordkeeping – Under the direction of the Director of HR, maintains department records, reports, company organizational charts, employee directory, as well as the contents and compliance of all personnel files.
9. Fleet Vehicles – Responsible for keeping licensing and license plates up-to-date on all fleet vehicles.
10. Maintenance Recordkeeping – Works with the Executive Director of Operations & Finance and the Director of Maintenance to keep bills and paperwork filed for day-to-day maintenance and all building projects.
11. Serve on college committees, as appropriate.
12. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

SALARY RANGE: $30,000 – $34,000 annually
