NCC Adds Multi-Sport Athlete to Men’s Soccer Team, Branden Johnson

In a move to bolster its inaugural men’s soccer team, Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) is proud to announce the signing of Branden Johnson, a current Associate of Arts student from Holstein, Iowa. Johnson, a versatile athlete who excelled in football, wrestling, and track at Ridgeview High School in Holstein, IA is set to bring a unique skill set to the NCC soccer program.

Despite his extensive background in various sports, soccer will be a new venture for Johnson. He expressed enthusiasm about the transition, stating, “After being involved in competitive sports throughout high school, stepping away didn’t sit well with me. I’ve maintained my fitness and now, the desire to regain that competitive edge and be part of a team sport again has led me to soccer. I’m particularly excited about the prospect of meeting people from all around the world through this sport.”

Coach Jesse Kuehler sees great potential in Johnson’s athletic abilities and adaptability. “Branden’s athletic background is a testament to his willingness to learn and adapt. His physical attributes and competitive spirit are exactly what we need in soccer. As an athlete, he possesses qualities that we can hone to fit a specific role on the team. We are thrilled to have him join us and I’m excited to see him develop in the game and discover his full potential.”

As NCC continues to build its men’s soccer team, the community eagerly anticipates the unique dynamics and perspectives that Branden Johnson will bring to the field. His journey from a multi-sport athlete to a soccer player is expected to be an inspiring addition to the team’s narrative.

Branden’s parents are Darren and Aracelie Johnson of Holstein, Iowa.
