NCC has received the American Legion Foundation of Iowa Grant

The American Legion of Iowa Foundation awarded two $1,000 scholarships to the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation. Patrick Child, Sheldon, and Cameron Vanden Brink, Sanborn, are the recipients of these scholarships. Patrick is enrolled in the Powerline program and Cameron is enrolled in the Diesel Technology program at NCC.
The American Legion Foundation was incorporated in 1978 and its purpose was to provide financial assistance to promote Americanism, youth programs, and veteran’s assistance along with community service. Only through donations, mostly as memorials to deceased, the fund has increased to just over $2 million. Only the interest on the principle is used for grants and scholarships given out annually.
The Foundation is pleased to present these scholarships to the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation as it fills the goal of one of the programs that the Foundation promotes.
