NCC Honors Foundation Board Member for Her Service

Judy Winkel of Sheldon, recently completed her service to the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation Board.  Winkel served as a member representing the Sheldon Community school district beginning in 2015.

Throughout her time with the board, she served in both the vice-president and the president capacity.  Winkel was active with multiple major fundraising campaigns, was instrumental in the passage of the General Obligation Bond in 2018, has been influential in the continued growth of the college in both facilities and initiatives, and has been involved in many various scholarship functions.

Lyle Korver, President of the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation Board states, “Judy has been a key member of the Foundation Board for the past nine years.  She has a real passion for NCC and the students.  She made significant contributions to the board both as a board member but also in providing visionary leadership in her roles as Vice President and President.  I have enjoyed getting to know Judy and serving with her.  On behalf of the Foundation Board I want thank her for everything she has done for NCC and the students.  She will be missed.”

The NCC Foundation Board is comprised of eighteen members, fourteen of whom represent each public-school district in NCC’s service territory, two members from the NCC Board of Trustees, and multiple retired NCC Presidents.  The mission of the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation is to attract and manage financial resources, enhance awareness of the College, and to support access to lifelong learning opportunities.
