NCC Shares Changes to Scholarship Offerings

The Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation is happy to announce that due to the success of the Everyone Knows Someone Who Chose NCC campaign, the College is able to offer approximately seventy new scholarships annually.

Kristi Landis, Director of College Advancement, shares that the College raised a total of $6,460,092 in the fundraising campaign. Within those funds, the College was able to fully endow the Rolf Scholarship Fund at its $1.5 million goal. The interest earned with the endowment will allow the College to have additional scholarship funds to award annually.

The new scholarships will come in multiple forms, including additional scholarships for students who took college-level classes through NCC while still in high school and then continued his or her education at Northwest Iowa Community College after high school graduation. Dollar amounts for these scholarships vary from $500-$2,000, and are based on credits completed and GPA achieved while in the concurrent enrollment classes. This scholarship, called the Next Step Scholarship, will be automatically awarded to any student who plans to attend NCC and meets the criteria.

Other enhanced scholarship offerings will include additional dollars awarded in the Multi-Cultural Scholarship and in the Foundation Scholarship.

“NCC serves students from all walks of life, helping them achieve their hopes and dreams. Every donation supports our mission of access to lifelong learning. We are humbled by the generosity of our donors and consider each of them a part of our extended NCC family. These scholarships are the key to opening the door to educational opportunities for numerous students who may not otherwise have access without donor support,” states Dr. Alethea Stubbe, President of Northwest Iowa Community College.
