NCC Welcomes Tajarie Lee to the Thunder Men’s Soccer Team for Fall 2024

Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) is thrilled to announce the commitment of Tajarie Lee, a remarkable student-athlete from Kingston, Jamaica, to join the Thunder Soccer Team in the fall of 2024. Tajarie will be enrolling in the Business Management program, bringing his exceptional talents both on the field and in the classroom to NCC.

The decision to join NCC was influenced by the college’s solid reputation and the unique opportunities it offers students. “NCC has everything I need to pursue my degree and is filled with wonderful people,” Tajarie said. He was especially drawn to NCC for its #1 ranking in the Nation for Best Community Colleges in the USA for International Students in 2022, signaling the college’s dedication to excellence.

Tajarie highlighted the Business Management program at NCC for its focus on improving business analysis, financial decision-making, and predictive skills—factors crucial for aspiring business owners. He is also impressed by NCC’s commitment to student success and the wealth of opportunities provided to achieve their goals.

On the field, Tajarie is a seasoned athlete, having played as a goalkeeper for Kingston College and Hydel High School. His involvement in youth soccer from U13 to U17 levels has honed his skills and prepared him for higher competition levels. Tajarie’s decision to join Team Thunder reflects his desire to showcase his abilities and contribute to the team’s success.

Looking forward to the opportunities at NCC, Tajarie is eager to utilize the resources available, both academically and athletically. He is particularly interested in learning from the faculty and mingling with students from varied backgrounds. “I’m excited to see how NCC supports students like me, from different cultures, both in the classroom and on the soccer field,” he shared.

Supported by his mother, Val-rose Campbell, and grandmother, Sharon Morris, both residing in Kingston, Jamaica, Tajarie’s journey to NCC has been a collaborative effort. His coaches have commended his work ethic, personality, and potential. High School/Club coach Shaun Charlton noted, “Tajarie’s incredible personality and diligent work ethic make me confident in his future success at both the at the college and on the soccer team.”

Jesse Kuehler, NCC Men’s Head Soccer Coach, welcoming Tajarie to the Thunder squad, highlighted his athleticism, determination, and leadership as a goalkeeper. “Tajarie’s addition to our team is exciting. His performance at Hydel High School as one of the top three goalkeepers at the U19 level in Jamaica speaks volumes. We can’t wait to see him in an NCC kit (uniform) this fall!”
