Summer Camps 2021

All NCC Summer camps are FREE!

All grades are based on the grades that were just finished for the 2020–21 school year.

 

K–4 Summer camps

Wilderness Camp
June 8, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp is designed to educate children on plants in the area, animals and their behaviors, and what to do when in certain situations outdoors. Some examples may include a run in with poison ivy, bee stings, skunks, unknown dogs, etc.

Gardening Camp
June 10, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp is designed to educate children on the needs of plants. They will learn about the different stages of growth as well as how some plants require different needs than others. They also will be provided with seeds to take home.

Manufacturing Camp
July 20, 2021  |  9am–noon

Children will learn basics in the science and chemistry of welding such as how temperature and speed contribute to weld strength. They will also learn about engineering and get to design their own project.

STEM Camp
August 6, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp will let the students explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This camp will get them thinking and help establish teambuilding skills.

5–8 Summer camps

Safety at Home Camp
June 9, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp is designed to help prepare children that will be staying at home without parental guidance over the summer.  We will be teaching basic CPR, Heimlich, basic first aid, poison control, when to dial 911, social media/video game safety, and safe words. This camp can be used for children that will be watching younger siblings or that will be staying home alone.

Agriculture Camp
June 22, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp will teach children about livestock, crops and equipment. The students will receive hands-on experience with each session and be able to ask questions to professionals in the fields.

Cooking Camp
June 29, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp is geared towards teaching children cooking basics. They will be able to bring a freezer meal and dessert home for supper that they put together.

CSI Camp
July 13, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp allows students the chance to practice their detective skills. They will be taught to pay attention to their surroundings and will be able to work their own crime scene.

Robotics
August 4, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp will allow students to work with robots as well as learn about how robots are used in everyday life. They will also be educated on the different careers that work with robots.

7–12 Summer camps

Mechanic Camp
June 24, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp will teach students basic car maintenance. It is great for those students that are getting their learner’s permits, school permits or even those that have been driving for a couple years. They will learn how to change tires, change wiper blades, check tire treads, change oil, change headlights/taillights, check fluids and tire PSI. This camp is hands-on so be prepared to get your hands dirty.

9–12 Summer camps

Women in the Trades
July 14, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp is for females to learn about careers that are usually male-dominated fields such as automotive/diesel mechanics, engineers, heavy equipment operators, and welders. This will be a hands-on camp taught primarily by females in the fields. This is a great opportunity to experience the trades.

Entrepreneurship
July 22, 2021  |  9am–noon

This camp will help students understand what goes into running their own business. The students will draft their own business plan and research city permits, loans and credit scores. They will also develop a marketing plan. Local entrepreneurs will share their stories and how they started out.
