Mix It Up! Adding Mixed Media to Watercolor: Come join us as we create textures and interesting visual effects by adding mixed media to our watercolor paintings! In this class we will create paintings using charcoal, wax, gesso, ink, and alcohol. All techniques will be demonstrated with an emphasis on how to integrate these effects into a successful painting. This class is geared for watercolor students who are interested in experimenting with new materials while building their watercolor skills. Be daring and see what happens as we mix-it-up with mixed media! Each student will need to bring these items to class: watercolor paints (tube or pan, Artist colors preferred), palette, Arches Watercolor Paper (140# cold or hot press), brushes (1/2” flat and #6 round), container for water, masking tape, drawing board to use as backing for watercolor paper, sketch pad and pencil, masking fluid (optional). Mixed Media supplies are provided with your class fee. Limited supplies of paper, paints, and brushes will be available for purchase.
