Wells Enterprises sponsors International Society of Automation (ISA) Competition as part of new Sponorship Partnership with NCC

Due to high industry demands for quality, trained instrumentation technicians, Wells Enterprises has established a sponsorship opportunity for Industrial Instrumentation and Electrical Technology students at Northwest Iowa Community College. The sponsorship was established to enhance Wells’ partnership with NCC. The first component is annual financial support of one student that completes the application process and qualifies for the sponsorship program. The second component is an annual contribution towards the ISA (International Society of Automation) Competition. The sponsorship serves as a tool to attract quality, technical talent from NCC’s Industrial Instrumentation and Electrical Technology programs.

Adam Moore, a native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, is a current, second-year Industrial Instrumentation & Control student. Moore, the 2019-2020 and initial, recipient of the Wells Sponsorship Program, completed his required 40-day internship with Wells and is currently employed part-time. Moore intends to work at Wells following his graduation from NCC in May 2020. The application period is now open for students seeking sponsorship for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Despite the 2020 District 6 ISA Competition being canceled due to COVID-19 regulations, Wells Enterprises proceeded to make their annual $2,000 contribution. Instead, directing it towards equipment needs for the Industrial Instrumentation & Control program.

The original intent of this contribution was to provide financial support to defray costs for the annual ISA competition for students enrolled in the Industrial Instrumentation and Control program. This distinguished competition allows NCC students to showcase their education and skills involving teamwork, safety and the application of instrumentation techniques in actual field scenarios. Although the original intended use of the funds was not possible, Wells Enterprises understands the cruciality of up-to-date equipment and technology in the instrumentation classrooms.
