Northwest Iowa Community College Digital Accessibility Statement

Last updated: September 16, 2026

At Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC), we believe every person should have full and equal access to the information, services, and opportunities we provide. Digital accessibility is an important part of our commitment to serving others, empowering learning, and opening doors of opportunity for students, employees, alumni, and our communities.

Our Commitment

NCC is committed to making our website, mobile content, and digital tools accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We strive to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the widely recognized standard for accessible digital experiences. Our goal is to ensure that everyone can navigate our website, access information, and interact with online services as effectively as possible.

Scope

This statement applies to digital content created, published, or maintained by Northwest Iowa Community College. This includes web pages, documents, forms, videos, student-facing systems, and other online materials. Some existing or archived content may not fully meet current accessibility standards. NCC is actively working to review, update, and improve this content as part of our ongoing accessibility efforts.

Ongoing Efforts and Continuous Improvement

Digital accessibility is an ongoing effort at NCC. We are continually working to improve the accessibility and usability of our digital content. We routinely:

  • Review pages for accessibility issues
  • Update templates and design elements to meet WCAG 2.1 AA
  • Improve navigation and readability
  • Add text alternatives to images
  • Ensure videos include accurate captions
  • Work toward accessible PDF and document formatting
  • Provide training and resources to employees who create digital content

As technology and best practices evolve, we will continue refining our processes, improving our content, and collaborating with campus stakeholders to support accessible digital environments.

Third-Party Content and Vendors

Some areas of the NCC website include content provided by external partners or third-party vendors. While NCC does not control all aspects of these platforms, we are committed to working with vendors to improve accessibility and selecting accessible solutions whenever possible. If you encounter an issue with third-party content, please let us know so we can assist.
