Live Healthy Northwest Iowa
Each year the LLRC administers the Live Healthy Northwest Iowa program – a subset of the Live Healthy Iowa program formerly known as Live Healthy Sheldon. In this program, participants compete in weight loss and minutes of activity competitions to win prizes.
- Registration will open on December 1, 2021.
- Early bird registration will end Jan. 4, 2022.
- Registration will close on Jan. 10, 2022.
- The competition will run Jan. 10, 2022 through March 18, 2022.

All workout space and equipment will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We are no longer requiring reservations for any areas or equipment.
Please limit basketball court use to one hoop – full-court basketball games will not be permitted but patrons are now allowed to engage in pick-up games with individuals other than their family members as court space/usage allows.
As always, we ask that you wipe down your equipment before and after use with the provided disinfectant wipes.
Starting May 15, 2021, the LLRC will reinstate the sale of guest/day passes.
All members under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Facial coverings will no longer be required on NCC’s campus. Some individuals may choose to continue wearing a facial covering.
Social distancing guidelines will no longer be enforced, but we continue to recommend that if space allows for it, users are encouraged to socially distance.
Patrons are advised to stay home if they are ill and to follow the guidance of their healthcare provider when sick.

Northwest Iowa Community College’s Lifelong Learning & Recreation Center is available to college students, staff, faculty, and community members. It provides wellness and recreation facilities and equipment, as well as space for trainings, conventions, conferences, and trade shows.
Goals of the LLRC:
- To provide a clean, safe, and friendly environment for all participants.
- To provide opportunities for wellness and recreation for students of NCC and community members.
- To be a resource for wellness information and promote lifelong wellness and learning.

Yes. The laps per mile for our track are as follows:
- Inside lane = 14 laps/mile
- Middle lane = 13.25 laps/mile
- Outside lane = 12.5 laps/mile
We offer a variety of cardiovascular and strength equipment including:
- Weight machines
- Free weights
- Fitness bikes
The LLRC uses Matrix Fitness equipment, one of the world’s premier commercial fitness brands.
Our basketball court divided into two courts.
It is also a full size tennis and volleyball court.
Our LLRC staff is happy to set up tennis or volleyball standards for you if you call 30 minutes ahead.
