Personal Training is an approach to health and fitness that implements one-on-one attention and motivation as well as attention to personal goals. Personal training sessions can incorporate cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and endurance, flexibility and balance/core training. Let us help keep you accountable, add fun and variety to your workout, and develop a program suited to your needs.

Small Group Personal Training Sessions

Personal trainers will provide group assistance in the design and implementation of an exercise program tailored to meet the small groups goals, fitness level, and experience.

    • Member Group Rate: $99/Non-member: $145
  • 12 Sessions
    • Member group Rate: $174/Non-member: $249

Body Composition Testing

Having your body composition tested is a great way to see where you’re starting, gauge your workout progress, and see results beyond the scale. Our body composition will tell you how much body fat you have, how much lean mass you have, and give you a great measurement tool to track your fitness journey. By appointment only. Meet Our Trainers

Our certified personal trainers are committed to helping you achieve your personal goals in health. We understand your needs are unique and that a “one size fits all” program will not work for you. 

Janice Wielenga

Janice is a resident of Sheldon and has been part of the community since 1988. She has worked at Sheldon Hospital in the Rehab Department and the Wellness Center since 2004 and gained extensive knowledge and experience from this work. Janice is a Certified Personal Trainer and has been teaching classes for the last few years. Through continued education, Janice has been certified in multiple areas including: Total Body, Boot camp, Pilates, High Intensity Interval Training, Kid Fitness, and many others. 

Tristan Verduin

Tristan was born and raised in Alton and took an interest in fitness at a young age while being involved in school sports and activities. During High School was when the interest became a passion as Tristan fell in love with being able to manipulate exercise and nutrition in order to have complete control over your own body. After graduating MOC Floyd Valley High School he continued his education at Western Iowa Tech studying Certified Personal Training.

Tristan has trained at multiple other gyms in the area and has a broad range of experience working with all kinds of body types and goals. Whether you are young, old or in between, through the instruction of proper bio-mechanics, and forming healthy, lifelong habits Tristan can help you get to a healthier, happier place with your fitness and nutrition.

Erin Swenson

Erin is a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and Assistant Recreation Coordinator at the LLRC. As the Assistant Recreation Coordinator, she also works for the City of Sheldon. The Group Fitness classes Erin teaches include Strength and Balance, Stretch and Flex, HIIT, and Ab/Core.

Erin went to the University of Northern Iowa where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Movement and Exercise Science. After she graduated, she began working here at the LLRC as a fitness instructor and front desk staff. While working at the LLRC, she earned her Personal Training Certificate through ACE. 

Along with fitness, Erin has a passion for coaching sports. She has coached Junior High Softball at Sibley-Ocheyedan for three years and is coaching High School Volleyball, going into her second year.
